Initially venerated by the Celts, Vichy Thermal Spa Water was used in thermal baths by the Romans as early as the 1st century B.C. Impressed by its soothing and softening powers, they dedicated the source to Venus.

Over the years, the popularity of the spa resort grew and grew and many famous people came to experience the water, including the writer Marquise de Sévigné, the daughters of King Louis XV and Napoleon. New tolerance tests are then performed on end products and validated by toxicologists to check that they are suitable for sensitive skin. At the Institute, Vichy and a team of physiotherapists have developed unique massage techniques to maximise the efficacy of treatment and strengthen the skin using deep pressure points, aero-massages, fortifying spraying… The skin recharges and re-energises itself.
